I was going to put this in my Mehditation channel, but then.. maybe the art of RAGE-FIXING is technical enough to be in my technical channel!!

Hi, you spend a ton of money, go buy a chair with a bunch of handles and controls and then after, like i, don't know three four years it buckles under your weight. Can you even comprehend the nerve of the chair? The stupid chair is fat. Shaming me. Don't make me make you cancel you piece of see.

The bottom of the chair is stuck in a forward position and i can't use the stupid handle anymore to push it back. It's my new life now so thinking about. I have to spend a ton of money to buy a new chair. I was ready to accept my new life, but then i thought none of the above.

I am an electrical engineer, so i should be able to fix anything so i flipped this around and i realized that my fat bot has cracked this piece of rod in half. Can i even pull it out? Ah there you go. This weak link wasn't able to handle my weight. I guess now i make some measurements of this and see if i can replace it.

So i run to my local screw store with my measurements, and i find exactly what i needed look at this. It's a 5 16 of an inch thick bolt 3 inches long and has a long area of unthreaded screw and now. How do we pull this out? Then i'll just pass the washer through it first and put this in somehow huh? Oh damn it i'm gon na get stuck here. I can't use it.

I had so much hope. I can't use this bolt on this chair. What do i do now? It's not gon na. Stop me it's nothing.

A little bit of side grinding, won't fix. I just have to see how far the thing travels inside to mark the place that i want to cut and now we cut it and hopefully won't affect the structural integrity of the chair too much. So it won't bend under my weight and there's a bit of blood there you can ignore. Let's start, i guess i can just bend it up.

A bit of damage to the bottom of the chair is the part of requirement. Now we fit the screw in like this. Let's hope we cut it properly. We put another washer in here, put on one of the nuts check and see if there is any interference, doesn't look like it eh now we don't need to make this not super tight.

We just tie another knot on top of it. Then we tighten these nuts against each other. That way it will never open, and yet this ball can still move around freely. In there there we go done like a charm.

Oh fixed.

Instead of cutting your chair more. Just cut the bolt down so there is only a 1/4 in of bolt left on each side. Then hammer the 1/4 left on both sides so it flattens out. This way, if it doesn't work, you don't have the structure of the chair cut up and bent.

"It's nothing a little bit of side-grinding won't fix!" is gonna be my new slogan! 😂

I think I'd have found a longer bolt and cut the head down to 2mm, then cut the threads off completely leaving just the rod to protrude through the other end by 2mm. After installing the bolt I'd then JB Weld a close fitting washer on the cut off end. Since the bolt isn't torqued the glue should hold the washer on forever.

Unthreaded screw part of the bolt is called da shoulder of da bolt

Bravo! Instead of two nuts, you can use a few blue loctite on the screw. Kiss from Montpellier, France.

rage fixing is so much more productive than rage quitting. gotta remember that. Thanks ElectroBOOM!

No matter how much you spend on a office chair they will always be uncomfortable and bad. Be a badass like me and buy a GPlan Housemaster chair and learn what it feels like to be me.

The reason this mechanism failed is due to the first law of posterior dynamics:
The angle of the dangle is directly proportional to the mass of the arse.

Yo! I promoted RAGE-FIXING from Mehditation to ELectroBOOM! Hope it was a wise choice!
