Tesla to Edison is like...

Why do we ever use AC to power homes instead of DC Can we run everything on? DC Yes, In fact, pretty much every device at home has to rectify AC into DC first before it can use it. Why am I angry? The reason is Elementary Once there was a fight between a guy named Nica Tesla being AC and Thomas Edison being DC and Tesla woned the contract for his employer Westing House Company to provide Power with AC no matter how hard th Edison tried to expose the dangerous nature of AC by electrocuting dogs and elephants in public. Wow! Now I Remember why I'm angry.

tesla won because they had transformer that time but no power electronics

its was the simplest solution but not the best

hvdc exists now basically dc is better and more efficient than ac, most people get it wrong

edison was right all along that dc is better

Hey Mehdi, Is your editor working on a 6Mil celebration or not.. i need it so bad..

Cus it's hard to elevate voltage for transmission… high voltage transmission decrease losses

If it were up to Nicola Tesla, we would have had AC Comics.

We transmit power across lines using AC because it loses far less voltage over distances than DC. That’s it. If you’re not transmitting voltage more than a couple feet then DC is fine. But if you’re transmitting low voltage over 20 ft you’re going to see a voltage drop rather quickly.

Sub stations every city block, transmission lines 2 maybe 3 times the size of existing too.

Transformers, induction motors don't work on DC.

Also, really, the elephant's execution was prchestrated largely by the circus that owned it, and it was slated to be executed due to aggressive behavior already. Also, the execution occurred 10 years after AC had won out. Also, AC won out cause it was less cost for the power company that instead was passed on to device manufacturers.

Misinformation. Edison didn't electrify an elephant. It was a different entity.

Mhedi is an Edison-guy?! Maybe he got too much shocks by AC so he doesn't like it anymore 😅
If you swear off Edison I'll spell you correctly 😜

    Topsy the elephant.

Hearing this reminds me of Bob’s Burgers “Electric Love”.

The central point is missing in this video though: Tesla was right, and Edison was putting up a show to win the contract.

Sending this to all my American grade school teachers for telling me Edison invented electricity and that he’s a great role model

Real DC never really existed but it would have forced electric companies build buildings with batteries for the each neighborhood . Would high amps more efficient that high voltage, that's the importance and cost. Use old sewing machines filter less instead.

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @sonicalstudios says:

AC jolts you back and forward which gives you a chance to let go, DC just cooks you. That's why it's not in your house and that's why the batteries are always 12 volts maximum
